The Chair of the Budget and Finance Committee, Irakli Kovzanadze met with the representatives of USAID Good Governance Initiative project.

At the working meeting, the parties dwelt upon the future cooperation prospects, including the enhancement of the Committee powers into the implementation of the Parliamentary Oversight.

As the Chair of the Committee remarked, cooperation with USAID yielded the approval of the Action Plan and Strategy for 2020 by the Committee.

“At this point, we continue the cooperation for the successful implementation of law-drafting and oversight functions of the Committee. We oversee budgetary and financial processes in the country, as well as key state institutions - National Bank, Ministry of Finance, State Audit and Insurance Supervision Services”, - Irakli Kovzanadze noted.

The project, aimed at improving the administrative and financial management of public institutions in Georgia, will continue with specific activities in the future.
