On April 19-20, the EuroNest PA holds the 9th annual session presided by the Co-Presidents of the Parliamentary Assembly, the Chair of the EU Integration Committee, Maka Bochorishvili and the MEP, Andrius Kubilius.
Within the session, the EuroNest PA Committees will hold the hearings on April 19.
The Committees, within their competencies, will discuss and adopt the resolutions. It is noteworthy, that the Resolution developed by the Committee on Social Affairs, Employment, Education, Culture and Civil Society “Life Quality, Proper Healthcare System and Sustainable Pension Reforms in the EU and EaP Countries” is co-authored by the member of the Parliamentary Delegation, Shalva Papuashvili.
The official opening ceremony of the EuroNest PA plenary session is scheduled on April 20, where the President of the European Parliament, David Sassoli, the Co-Presidents of the EuroNest PA, Maka Bochorishvili and Andrius Kubilius, the Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia, Archil Talakvadze and the Co-Chairs of the Parliaments of the EaP countries will address the attendees.
The agenda includes the “post-COVID situation in the EaP countries, and prospects of restoration, stability and democratization”.
The First Deputy Foreign Minister of Georgia, Vakhtang Makharoblishvili will deliver the speech on the topic. The attendees will hold the debates after the reports of the speakers.
The EuroNest PA is a Parliamentary dimension of the EaP policy, which consists of 60 MEPs and the Parliamentary Delegations of the EaP countries – 10 members per the National Parliament: Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine (Belarus is temporarily suspended).
The plenary sessions are held annually in Brussels and one of the Capitals of the EaP countries.
Providing the pandemic-related restrictions, the plenary session is held online in 2021.
