The Committee elected Giorgi Amilakhvari as the First Deputy Chair and Tamar Taliashvili as the Deputy Chair.
The Deputy IDPs, Labor, Health and Social Protection Minister, Tamar Gabunia introduced the Bill on Public Health, providing the basis for, providing the epidemic, the Government of Georgia to establish the terms and regulation for the health and accident insurance for the foreign citizens and stateless persons upon the entry/residence in Georgia.
“In view to preventing the further distribution of the COVID-19, it was considered expedient to establish the terms and regulation for the health and accident insurance for the foreign citizens and stateless students”, - she stated.
The Committee discussed with the II reading the Bill on General Education, entitling the private school to terminate the status to the student with the financial liability prior to the next academic semester.
As the Chair, one of the initiators, Shalva Papuashvili noted, various positions have been expressed concerning the enactment, namely to choose the effective date – January 1 or September 1.
According to the Opposition MP, Alexander Elisashvili, the bill shall be enacted immediately deriving from the interests of the children.
This position was shared by the Committee members. The administrations of private schools attending the sitting expressed their positions.
The Committee approved the bills.
