The Deputy Chair of the Education, Science and Culture Committee, Guguli Magradze delivered the report at the Workshop on Education and introduced the reforms in education sphere upheld in 2012-2019 by means of the legal initiatives, including the special law of 2019 on Education Budget Financing, according to which intact increase of the education budget till 2020 will result in 6% of GDP based on the respective record to the Constitution.
“The reforming in the education sphere is reflected in the National Strategy for 2017-2021, which identifies 5 key objectives: higher pre-school education quality, increased quality and accessibility of general education, increase of a number of the vocational education students, internalization of higher education and modernization of science”, - she noted.
She introduced the initiative of 2019 concerning the pension-age pedagogues who, in case of resignation, shall receive the salaries for 2 years and high insurance level vouchers.
The representatives of Armenian legislative and executive authorities asked about reforming in vocational education and science management sphere as they intend to modernize these spheres in their country.
The attendees heard the information about chronology of the reforms in Georgia and progress and achievements: justice system, tax and customs reforms, public order and safety, education, healthcare and decentralization and territorial arrangement.
The Workshop was attended by 46 persons from Armenia, including Armenian MPs, executive authority members, NGOs and media.
The workshop was led the Georgian experts and was backed by “Multi-national Georgia”, NED and the Embassy of the Netherlands.
