“The pandemic has posed the problems to the financial sector and micro-financial organizations are of no exception and hence, we do our best to at a maximal extent mitigate the crisis effect. The proper and due development of the micro-financial sector is of paramount importance for the country”, - the Chair of the Budget and Finance Committee, Irakli Kovzanadze stated at the online meeting with the representatives of the micro-financial organizations.
The parties overviewed the challenges in the sector.
According to I. Kovzanadze, the Government strives to render support to the micro-financial organizations: “The interests of our country imply the increase of the assets of the micro-financial sector and further extension of their scopes. Currently, they serve 600 000 customers”, - he noted and expressed the commitment to support the micro-financial organizations in addressing the negative effect of the crisis.
There are 43 micro-financial organizations currently operating in Georgia.
