The Speaker, Kakha Kutchava serves his first official visit to Brussels.

Today, he held meetings with the representatives of the influential Think Tanks and the experts.

At the meeting, the parties discussed the political processes in Georgia and in this context, stressed the implementation of the document mediated by the EU. The parties touched upon the continuation of the electoral reform and underlined the importance of the transmission of the political discussions to the Parliament and the Parliamentary cooperation.

The parties emphasized the situation in the region, the EU and NATO integration of Georgia and the progress in this direction.

The parties also discussed the application to be made by Georgia on the full-fledged EU membership in 2024 and underlined the enactment of public diplomacy. As the representatives of the Think Tanks stated, Georgia and the processes therein are always relevant for them.

“They have expressed very interesting opinions and I have delivered my messages and first of all the message that the crisis shall be converted into an opportunity, and we have already signed the document developed by Charles Michel, and now, at the second stage, we need to implement the reforms reflected therein”, - the Vice-Speaker, Levan Ioseliani stated.

According to the Chair of the EU Integration Committee, Maka Bochorishvili, the parties discussed the engagement of the EU in the processes in Georgia

“At the meeting with the experts, we discussed the engagement of the EU in the processes in Georgia and the agreement concluded between the political parties by the mediation of Charles Michel and the EU. Now, it is important to fulfill this agreement, enhancement of cooperation between the political parties and transfer of the political processes to the Parliament to implement the reforms reflected in the agreement, striving to achieve the consensus by engagement of all political actors”, - she stated.
