The Chair of the EU Integration Committee, Maka Bochorishvili held the introductory meeting with the Ambassador of Japan, H.E. Akira Imamura.
The parties discussed the bilateral relations and underlined the potential of economic cooperation and inter-Parliamentary relations.
The Ambassador expressed intact support to the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Georgia and welcomed the EU and NATO integration of the country. He outlined one of the priorities of the country – connectivity, and in this context, underline the importance of Georgia.
He overviewed the agreement in terms of the connection to the EU where Georgia holds the potential to play the transit role.
The parties discussed the political situation in Georgia.
The Ambassador noted the necessity for the political parties to achieve the agreement and ensure uninterrupted reform in adherence to inclusive and democratic principles.
