Meeting of Maka Botchorishvili with Ambassador of Austria

The Chair of the EU Integration Committee, Maka Botchorishvili met with the Ambassador of Austria to Georgia, H.E. Thomas Muhlmann to note the extremely fruitful relations between the two countries in both bilateral and multilateral formats. In particular, active cooperation between Georgia and the Republic of Austria was emphasized in the political, trade-economic, inter-parliamentary, development and law enforcement spheres.

The focus fell on deepening parliamentary diplomacy and the prospects of co-operation within the Friendship Group with the Austrian Parliament.

The Ambassador expressed his full support for Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity and noted that he hails Georgia's European aspirations.

M. Botchorishvili noted that the support of international partners and friends on the important path of European integration is of great importance. The meeting stressed the importance of the forthcoming EaP Summit.

During the meeting, the sides tabled the current political situation in Georgia. The Austrian Ambassador noted that it is very important to see opposition parties in the legislature.

At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed hope for fruitful cooperation and further deepening of existing relations.
