The Faction "Independent MPs" will uphold any process, including setting up of an Interim Parliamentary Commission, provided our society rests ensured to receive comprehensive information on Temirlan Machalikashvili's case.
An open, transparent process shall answer the important questions:
- First of all, our society needs to know whether any of the Machalikashvili’s family members were in contact with terrorist organizations or groups, which, pursuant to the State Security Service (SSU), became the basis for special operations. We believe that disclosure of the materials available to the SSU will significantly contribute to responding to this question.
- Questions remain about the special operation that ended with the tragedy of the Machalikashvilis’ family without a specific post-investigative outcome. To answer these questions and provide the public with comprehensive information, we will uphold the process of making the case file public in any format, including the establishment of the Interim Commission, if a vote is held in the Parliament on the matter.
