Mikheil Sarjveladze: I expect all Agencies to have fulfilled the commitments imposed by the Law on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities by April 1

The Human Rights and Civil Integration Committee held a working meeting on the status of fulfillment of the commitments defined by the transitional provisions of the Law of Georgia on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.

According to the Chairman of the Committee, Mikheil Sarjveladze, the fulfillment of the obligations provided by the law within the specified time is very important for the further improvement of the standards for the protection of the rights of persons with disabilities.

“The meeting was attended by representatives of all the agencies that have a commitment to ensure the approval of action plans by April 1. Therefore, it was interesting for us to clarify the issues related to the development of these action plans and, accordingly, to determine whether there is actually a willingness to fully meet these commitments by 1 April. There are all the prerequisites to say that by April 1, all Agencies will have fulfilled the commitments imposed by the law. This is very important for the further improvement of the standards of protection of the rights of people with disabilities in our country”, - M. Sarjveladze stated.
