Introductory Meeting of Nikoloz Samkharadze with Răzvan Rotundu

The Chair of the Foreign Relations Committee, Nikoloz Samkharadze held an introductory meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Romania to Georgia, H.E. Răzvan Rotundu to discuss the further deepening of relations between the two countries and the prospects for future cooperation, including the strengthening of parliamentary relations.

The meeting focused on our country's foreign policy priorities, including the resolution on Georgia's Foreign Policy adopted by the Parliament, which discourses the country's foreign policy priorities for the next 4 years.

The sides discussed Georgia's membership in NATO and the European Union and the steps taken in this direction.

N. Samkharadze informed the Ambassador about Georgia's plan to apply for EU full-fledged membership in 2024.

The Ambassador noted that Romania strongly supports Georgia's Euro-Atlantic aspirations, as well as the development of bilateral relations in various fields.

As part of the meeting, the sides discussed the grave situation in the occupied regions of Georgia, ongoing processes and challenges in the South Caucasus region, as well as security issues in the Black Sea region.
