The Vice-Speaker, Kakha Kutchava, held an introductory meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Austria to Georgia, H.E. Thomas Muhlmann to discuss the friendly and partnership relations between Georgia and Austria, share future plans and agree to intensify cooperation, especially in the parliamentary sphere.
"As you know, close partnership relations have been established between Georgia and the Republic of Austria, be it in the fields of politics, trade, economy, energy, environment, police, culture and education. During the meeting with the Ambassador, we talked about all the issues that are relevant, both in terms of working in the Parliament and the political situation in the country in general. I briefed Mr. Ambassador on our positions on issues of interest to him. Given the intensified relations between the two countries in various fields, we agreed to work together on certain issues. One of them will be the sharing of the practice of parliamentary diplomacy between the legislatures of Austria and Georgia. During the conversation, both sides expressed commitment for cooperation at the legislative level. Inter-parliamentary cooperation between the two countries is intensive. The Friendship Group with Austria has been established in the Parliament of Georgia, and the Austrian-Georgian Friendship Group operates in the Austrian Parliament, therefore we agreed to activate this format”, - K. Kutchava commented post hoc the meeting.
