Tamar Taliashvili was elected as the Rapporteur on Youth and Media in PACE

The member of the Parliamentary Delegation to PACE, member of the EU Integration Committee, Tamar Taliashvili participated in the sitting of the PACE Committee on Culture, Science, Education, Sports and Media, where she was elected as the rapporteur on “Youth and Media”.

According to her, it is a success of the Parliamentary Delegation that the CoE starts development of the issues initiated by the Delegation and that there is a Georgian rapporteur on the youth and media.

“While working on the youth and media issues, I will at a maximal extent engage Georgian and European youth in the development of the recommendations as I believe that the youth policy shall be planned by the active participation of the youth. The role of the modern media is as well paramount in the expression of the positions, maintenance of the social relations and new links, in cognitive, creative and educational activities”, - she stated at the sitting.

The Committee also discussed the teaching of history in Europe, the impact of the pandemic on education and culture, the role of the youth in conflict prevention, sports policy in crisis and other agenda issues.
