“The pandemic entails two types of crisis – healthcare and economic, which are closely inter-related and have a mutual impact. We rarely may witness and address this type of challenge and being separated and in a standalone manner, we would never be able to solve these problems. The challenges can only be eliminated by the collective efforts – the necessary measures and coordination, feasible for the Government solely. We need to adhere to the recommendations of the medical personnel, however, it is not enough”, - Gia Zhorzholiani stated at the briefing today.
We all shall equally carry the burden: “What the society and each of us can? The greatest part of society keeps working in the budget and the private sectors. And it will be neither ethnic nor human and patriotic to allow the coronavirus consequences to affect the tourist, transport, service and manufacture spheres solely”.
G. Zhorzholiani called on the society to set up the Solidarity Fund to unify all still employed persons and deposit according to their ability.
“The persons with a low income can deposit a fewer amount and the persons with a higher income can deposit more. These amounts shall be consumed on the minimal compensations for the citizens left unemployed”.
As he noted, it is not necessary to be rich to help the people, it only takes solidarity. “These sums cannot solve the above-mentioned problems but today, the society, every citizen shall assume the responsibility to in words and deed help each other. Solidarity and support are the paramount values to help each of us and our country”, - the Member of the Faction “Alliance of Patriots and Social-Democrats”, Gia Zhorzholiani.
