The Interim Fact Finding Commission on Murder of Two Youngsters has heard the official explanations by the Interior Minister, Giorgi Gakharia, Justice Minister, Tea Tsulukiani and former Chief Prosecutor, Irakli Shotadze.

G. Gakharia and I. Shotadze answered the questions about the investigation and procedural activities on murder.

“It is the Parliamentary Republic where the Parliamentary oversight is of the paramount factor in the political process and that is why we are here. Naturally, we understand the bilateral responsibility and understand that the Commission has been set up to detect any gaps committed during the investigation process. We assume full responsibility that if we detect any cause-effect relations deriving from certain activities affecting the ultimate outcome, is it a gap or an offense, we will have due and adequate response”, - G. Gakharia noted.

The Commission considered the organizational issues. The Chair, Sergi Kapanadze noted that the Commission has so far accomplished the meetings to resume in the end of August. The Commission will interrogate juveniles tomorrow and two persons in penitentiary on Monday.

“We will accomplish collection of the evidences and interrogations next week and develop the report. In mid-August we will submit the initial version of the report and will agree on the certain version to be submitted to the first Bureau sitting in September”, - he noted.
