The Chair of the Health Care and Social Issues Committee, Akaki Zoidze held the introductory meeting with the newly appointed UNICEF representative, Ghassan Khalil.
A Zoidze underlined importance of UNICEF activity and expressed his gratitude for the projects realized in Georgia.
“UNICEF representation to Georgia undertakes sundry healthcare, social and educational projects and supports the Government in this direction. UNICEF has rendered significant technical assistance in eradication of child poverty and starts the first multi-indicating survey on the national level to define the consistence of the lead in the blood of the children which will assist us in study of the problems of mortality of the children and mothers”.
The parties overviewed the relations between the Committee and UNICEF and determined the future cooperation aspects.
