The meeting of David Bakradze with the US Ambassador

The Minority Leader, David Bakradze and the Minority MPs met with the US Ambassador, H.E. Ian Kelly.

The parties discussed cooperation of European Georgia with US Administration and considered accession to NATO, as well as US support to territorial integrity and sovereignty of Georgia.

“Naturally, we are sorry that the Ambassador leaves Georgia but our cooperation with USA will continue. European Georgia has the close relations with US Administration. We cooperate on most important issues, such are strengthening of the opposition in the country and thus, enhancement of Georgian democracy. We will cooperate on the issues we consider today: support to Georgia’s NATO membership, support to territorial integrity and de-occupation. US support to all these issues is crucial for success of Georgia and naturally, our political party will continue close cooperation with US Government”, - D. Bakradze stated.

After the meeting, the Ambassador commented to media. “European Georgia is our partner supporting EU and NATO aspiration of the country. At the meeting we discussed the ways to enhance Georgian democracy. Naturally, we touched upon pluralism as in the Parliament between the parties so in media. Capacity building is paramount. We considered the ways how to continue our partnership to achieve our common goals implying establishment of the strong democratic country and ultimately accession to EU and NATO structures”.
