The Head of Georgia-Uzbekistan Parliamentary Friendship Group, Chair of the Faction “Georgian Dream – Industrials” Simon Nozadze and Group members met with the Non-Resident Ambassador of Uzbekistan, Sherzod Fayziev.
The parties discussed relations on the Parliamentary and Governmental level.
“Uzbeks are interested in our experience in various spheres, including tourism, wine-making, transit capacity of Georgia etc. They expressed the will on establishment of the joint enterprises, which will bring the opportunity of processing Uzbekistani production in Georgia to be entered to the world market”, - S. Nozadze noted.
According to the Chair of the Faction, “Georgian Dream – for Development of the Regions”, Kakha Okriashvili noted, the Friendship Group initiated the air ties between Tashkent and Tbilisi to trigger tourism and business development.
“Freight turnover between our countries is just 80 ml USD – 1/3 of the potential we possess. Development of air links will trigger effective use of this potential”.
The parties agreed on development of cooperation in science, culture and sports spheres. S. Nozadze invited the Uzbekistan Parliamentary Delegation to Georgia. Enhancement of the Parliamentary links will further intensify cooperation between our countries.
