The Chair of the Foreign Relations Committee, Sofio Katsarava and the Chair of the Defense and Security Committee, Irakli Sesiashvili held the meeting with their counterparts from Estonia.
The parties discussed EaP and Georgia institutional approximation to EU and considered ongoing democratic reforms in human rights, judicial and rule of law spheres. The parties touched upon the Declaration supporting Georgia adopted at NATO PA session and considered peaceful solution of conflicts, restoration of territorial integrity of Georgia, as well as bilateral and multilateral cooperation between the Parliaments.
The parties emphasized EU and NATO perspective of Georgia and importance of Baltic states for foreign policy priorities of Georgia, as well as EUAA agenda.
The parties considered post visa liberalization steps and inter-Parliamentary Committee cooperation.
“We considered our successful cooperation and spoke about EaP format and our expectations. We hail that EaP will be one of the priorities of Estonia being the CoE presiding state”, - S. Katsarava stated.
