The Chair of the Foreign Relations Committee, Sophio Katsarava held the introductory meeting with the Ambassador of France, H.E. Diégo Colas to discuss Georgia-France relations and joint projects.
S. Katsarava introduced the main foreign policy priorities and the Parliamentary oversight functions in this regard. She introduced the changes envisaged under the Rules of Procedure enhancing the Parliamentary oversight, and dwelt on the Committee activity and the agenda.
“The Parliament is the body defining state policy and foreign policy is one of the key points of our agenda”, - she noted.
The parties touched upon territorial integrity and occupied territories of Georgia, peacekeeping and principal policy issues, “step to better future” initiative for the benefit of the Georgian citizens residing on occupied territories and in the villages adjacent to the occupation line.
S. Katsarava underlined importance of the Parliamentary relations.
The Ambassador expressed intact support to territorial integrity and EU and NATO integration of Georgia and stressed importance of enhancement of Parliamentary ties.
