The Chair of the Foreign Relations Committee, Sophio Katsarava and her Deputy, Dimitri Tskitishvili hosted the Chair and the members of the Defense, Internal Affairs and Corruption Prevention Committee of Latvian Saeima.

The parties discussed Georgia-Latvia cooperation on the executive and legislative levels and underlined close friendly relations. S. Katsarava informed the guests about the grave situation on the occupied territories and stressed importance of the aid of international community in problem solution.

The parties touched upon defense and security issues and emphasized importance of the Black Sea security. According to the guests, Latvia values progress of Georgia on EU integration path.

“We are always glad to meet our Latvian colleagues and discuss the agenda issues. Latvia strongly supports territorial integrity, EU and NATO integration of our country. Within the visit, our colleagues will visit the occupation line to study the situation at the place”, - S. Katsarava noted.
