The Chair of the Foreign Relations Committee, Sophio Katsarava met with the NATO Assistant Secretary General for Public Diplomacy, Tacan Ildem and discussed Georgia-NATO close relations and cooperation aspects.
The parties dwelt on the role of public diplomacy as in local, so in global context and stressed importance of strategic communications.
According to T. Ildem, NATO member states value the contribution of Georgia in international security. The parties touched upon NATO-Georgia public diplomacy forum in Tbilisi dedicated to the hybrid challenges, disinformation and propaganda as the common threats for the international society.
“I met with the NATO Assistant Secretary General for Public Diplomacy who strongly supports NATO integration of Georgia. We discussed all relevant issues, including bilateral intensive cooperation, security challenges and progress of Georgia on NATO integration path. We touched upon importance of public diplomacy and the role of strategic communications”, - S. Katsarava noted.
