The National Library hosted the presentation of the Book of Gigi Tsereteli and Manana Kutateladze “Churches and Religions Buildings of Tbilisi”.

The Book provides up to 150 churches of all confessions within the city, as well as religions building sand historical monuments.

The reader is provided with Georgian, English and Russian information about history and cultural value of these objects. Gigi Tsereteli addressed the attendees: “The Book concerns our history, history of old Tbilisi and the multi-confession and tolerant milieu Tbilisi always was dignified with. Unfortunately, many monuments have been destroyed and the texture of old Tbilisi architecture was ruined. However, we – the authors of the Book, tried to compose the Book based on the material available, to be interesting as for our society so for the tourists and visitors of the city”.

The representatives of various religious confessions, scientists and historians spoke about the material of the Book.
