The Chair of the Diaspora and Caucasus Issues Committee, Beka Odisharia and his Deputy, Givi Chichinadze held the video-conference in the Foreign Ministry with the participants of the project “Become a Young Ambassador of Your Country”.
The parties touched upon the coronavirus situation worldwide and the state of Georgian Diaspora, including the students abroad. The parties exchanged the positions about the grave pandemic situation in the world.
The young ambassadors introduced the information about the needs Georgian Diaspora encounters due to coronavirus in their host countries. The winners of the project noted that they provide Georgian citizens abroad with the situation on coronavirus prevention, the measures undertaken by the state and the new regulations, as well as provide aid to Georgian citizens abroad to arrive back to Georgia.
B. Odisharia noted that against this emergency in the world, we need to actively use the young ambassadors for communication with our compatriots abroad and operative response to their needs.
The video-conference was also attended by the Deputy Foreign Minister, Mikheil Ninua and the Director of Diaspora Department, Mukhran Gulagashvili.
The recommendations have been issued to the young ambassadors about the services offered by the Georgian state as the resources and potential of the young ambassadors shall be in full applied for solution of the problems of Georgian citizens residing abroad.
The parties agreed on active cooperation and operative exchange of information to facilitate timely response to the pandemic challenges.
