The meeting of Gela Samkharauli with the Ambassador of Greece

The First Deputy Chair of the Agrarian Committee, the Head of Georgia-Greece Friendship Group, Gela Samkharauli held the introductory meeting with the Ambassador of Greece, H.E. Dimitrios Karabalis.
The parties discussed bilateral relations and cooperation. G. Samkharauli emphasized Georgia-Greece Parliamentary relations and hoped that the links will be further intensified on the Committee and Staff level. The parties touched upon Georgian migrants in Greece, their problems and Diaspora issues.
“We attach particular attention to relations with Greece based on historical links of Georgian and Greek people. I would like to further intensify our relations. We enhance Parliamentary administration and Greek experience is very important. It is noteworthy that after visa liberalization, Greece was the first EU member state hosting the visit of the Prime Minister. Position of your country to EU and NATO integration of Georgia is particularly important for us”, - he stated.
The Ambassador confirmed support to sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as non-recognition policy. The attention shall as well be attached to cultural and humanitarian relations and cooperation between the regions. He noted positive progress of Georgia in agrarian sphere and stated that Greece is ready to support in implementation of certain projects.
