The meeting of Otar Danelia and Edisher Toloraia with the Members of the International Olive Council

The Chair of the Agrarian Issues Committee, Otar Danelia and the Committee member Edisher Toloraia met with the Members of the International Olive Council.
As O. Danelia noted, the need of Georgian olive and olive oil is being increased at the international markets and hence, it is paramount to facilitate to planting of the new cultures. Georgia has started production of oil a couple of years ago. The climate and the soil in Georgia are favorable for oil trees and Georgia expresses interest in operation in the oil industry.
The parties discussed convocation of the IOC session scheduled in 2020. The International Olive Council has been established in 1959 in Madrid in capacity of the UN Specialized Agency. The organization aims at support to the initial production and export of oil and delegation of the technologies.
The meeting was attended by the President of Georgia Olive Growers Association, Giorgi Svanidze.
