The Parliamentary Minority introduced own version of the draft on Surveillance to the political parties and NGOs

The Minority organized the enlarged meeting on the draft on surveillance. The opposition MPs introduced own version of the draft and spoke about alternative approaches of the draft developed by Majority.
The presentation of the draft by Minority was introduced by the Faction “Movement for Freedom – European Georgia” MP, Irakli Abesadze. The draft envisages set up of independent technical agencies accountable to the PM and the Parliament. The draft also envisages establishment of the “two key” mechanism and upon covert investigations, one key shall be granted to the Personal Data Protection Inspector and another to the Judge appointed by the Supreme Court of Georgia. As noted, the approaches shall be further improved and legally corrected.
“We shall further work on the draft on surveillance. We shall adopt at least the version till March 31 to meet the minimal standards of the Constitutional Court decision. It is our offer and we will further cooperate with NGOs and will continue political activities and creation of discomfort for the Government”, - the Minority Leader, David Bakradze stated.
