The Speaker, Archil Talakvadze held the meeting with the Ambassador of Japan, H.E. Akira IMAMURA.

The parties gave a positive assessment of the bilateral close cooperation between the parties in various directions and hailed the set-up of the Georgia-Japan Friendship Group.

The Speaker thanked the Ambassador for the support in countering the pandemic, including for the recent decision of the Japanese Government to provide Georgia with the medicine Avigan and the medical equipment.

The Speaker underlined the technical and financial aid provided by the Japanese Agency of International Cooperation to Georgia and hoped for the successful accomplishment of the scheduled projects.

The parties discussed the situation on the occupied territories and the political negotiations in Georgia on the EU integration agenda.
