The meeting of Archil Talakvadze with Charles Michel
The Speaker, Archil Talakvadze held the meeting with the President of the European Council, Charles Michel serving the official visit to Georgia.
The Speaker thanked Mr. Michel for visiting Georgia and noted that it is an expression of strong support by the EU. The parties dwelt on the pandemic situation in Georgia and the EU and the vaccination issues.
The Speaker thanked the guest for supporting Georgia in countering the pandemic.
As Ch. Michel noted, the EU intends to, at a high extent accelerate provision of vaccines to Georgia.
The parties touched upon the regulation of the political processes in Georgia and the importance of the political dialogue with the EU engagement.
The Speaker stressed the grave situation on the occupied territories and the changes in the region and underlined the importance of the EU engagement in the peaceful resolution of the conflict. He hailed the extension of the EUMM mandate to December 2022.
The meeting was attended by the Vice-Speaker, Levan Ioseliani, the Chair of the EU Integration Committee, Maka Bochorishvili, the Chair of the Foreign Relations Committee, Nikoloz Samkhradze and the EU representative to Georgia, Natali Sabanadze.
