The Chair of the Sector Economy and Economic Policy Committee, David Songhulashvili met with the Executive Director of the US Chamber of Commerce in Georgia, George Welton to review the activities envisaged in the Action Plan of the Committee, as well as the projects, the effective and timely implementation of which will contribute to the strengthening of various sectors in the future.

Particular attention was paid to improving the investment and business environment, strengthening small and medium-sized businesses, reforming transport policy, challenges in the tourism sector and the efficient use of renewable energy.

D. Songhulashvili emphasized that the Committee will serve as a platform where representatives of the private sector will be able to talk about all the issues that are relevant to them.

At the meeting, D. Songhulashvili and G. Welton reviewed the ongoing processes in the country and expanded on the issue of combating pandemic and timely implementation of vaccination.

The parties expressed full commitment for close and effective work in the future.
