The Chair of the Culture Committee, Eliso Bolkvadze and Deputy Chair, Ketevan Dumbadze met with the Head of the Municipal Department of Culture, Education, Sport and Youth Affairs of Tbilisi City Hall, Irakli Gvilava, and the Head of the Cultural Facilities Management and Planning Division, Tsira Shalashvili to expand on the art education issues and plan the future events.

"As you know, the Committee holds meetings on art education. We receive information from regional municipalities as well as art institutions in Tbilisi. Today’s meeting was also dedicated to the challenges and problems that exist in this direction: teachers' qualifications, their salaries, school infrastructure, the unification of art schools, etc.

The other issue of the meeting concerned the artists. In letters and meetings to the Committee, the artists complain that there are no spaces, galleries, where they can exhibit their works. We asked the representatives of the City Hall to work on finding an appropriate space for them”, - E. Bolkvadze stated.

According to her, on June 1, with the participation of the Tbilisi City Hall, the Committee will hold an event dedicated to Child Protection Day.
