The First Deputy Chairman of the Regional Policy and Self-Government Committee, Gori and Kaspi Single Mandate MP, Giorgi Khojevanishvili, met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Austria, H.E. Thomas Mühlmann to discuss the existing relations between Georgia and Austria and stress the importance of inter-parliamentary cooperation.

As was noted at the meeting, Austria is an active supporter of Georgia's territorial integrity, sovereignty and the country's EU integration process, and in this regard, the projects and programs implemented with the support of the Austrian Government in Georgia are particularly important.

One of the topics of the meeting was the issues of occupation. G. Khojevanishvili informed the Austrian diplomat about the situation in the occupied regions and spoke about the facts of human rights violations. The sides discussed regional and self-government development issues.
