Givi Mikanadze – Speaker of the Parliament of Northern Macedonia will pay an official visit to Georgia together with the parliamentary delegation in the fall

"In the fall, the Speaker of the Parliament of Northern Macedonia, Head of the Friendship Group and the accompanying delegation will pay an official visit to Georgia”, - Givi Mikanadze, Member of Parliament and Head of the Friendship Group with Northern Macedonia, stated.

As G. Mikanadze noted, within the framework of the talks with the Speaker of the Parliament of Northern Macedonia, the parties put an initiative forward to sign a memorandum of bilateral strategic cooperation and partnership - "During this meeting, the parties exchanged information on the current legislative processes and the political realities in our countries. We also tabled the possibility of deepening these relations. To this end, both the Parliament of Georgia and the Parliament of Northern Macedonia formed friendship groups, in the format of which I had the opportunity to meet face to face with my counterpart from the Parliament of Northern Macedonia.

We have made plans for the Speaker of the Parliament of Northern Macedonia, the Head of the Friendship Group and the accompanying delegation to pay an official visit to Georgia this autumn. At the same time, in the framework of the talks with the Speaker, we initiated the signing of a Memorandum of Bilateral Strategic Cooperation and Partnership during the visit to Georgia, which was positively estimated by the Speaker of the Parliament. According to the Speaker, it would be very important for the legislatures of the two countries to get closer to each other and intensify the communication between the legislatures. We believe that this year, amid this very important visit, which is supposed to take the bilateral relations to an even higher level, and especially further develop the inter-parliamentary relations, this document will definitely be signed, which will make cooperation between the two countries even more intensive at the legislative level”, - G. Mikanadze elucidated.

According to the Presidential Administration, within the framework of the official visit of the President of Georgia to Northern Macedonia, a meeting was held with the Speaker of the Parliament of Northern Macedonia, Head of the Friendship Group with the Parliament of Georgia and MPs from various political parties.
