The meeting of Irakli Kadagishvili with the Ambassador of Japan

The Chair of the Procedural Issues and Rules Committee, Irakli Kadagishvili held the meeting with the Ambassador of Japan, H.E. Akira Imamura.

The parties discussed the bilateral relations and cooperation prospects, touching upon the inter-Parliamentary cooperation and the activity of the Friendship Groups.

“We discussed the Parliamentary life since the opposition joined the Parliament under the document mediated by the EU. We noted the fact that the particular importance is attached to the development of the Election Code and restoration of the judicial reform. I introduced the specification of our Committee”, - I. Kadagishvili stated.

According to him, the parties discussed the special needs for the further economic development of the country and stressed the Parliamentary initiatives, as well as the legal changes aiming at the economic growth.

“We also discussed the increase of the Japanese investments and attached particular attention to the renewable and ecologic energy systems, including the energy-saving and “green energy” directions in the business, hydro resources etc. We touched upon certain projects implemented by the Japanese grants, including in Kakheti region – Akhmeta, Telavi, Kvareli and Lagodekhi municipalities, which is particularly important for me, a Single Mandate MP of these municipalities. The Japanese grant also allowed implementation of the new projects, including in Akhmeta and Lagodekhi municipalities in healthcare and small and average business directions”, - I. Kadagishvili stated.
