The Health Care and Social Issues Committee discussing the Bills

At the sitting, presided by the Chair, Dimitri Khundadze, the Committee discussed the Bills, including the Bill initiated by the Government on Public Health submitted for the III reading.

As the reporter, the First Deputy Health Minister, Tamar Gabunia noted, Article 32 is supplemented by subparagraph “e”: providing the epidemic situation, is entitled to, in view to arriving to and/or stay in Georgia, establish the terms and regulations on health and accident insurance towards the respective foreign citizens and the stateless persons.

As the reporter noted, it assigns the Government and the Law shall become effective upon promulgation.

The Committee unanimously approved the Bill and discussed with the II reading the Bill initiated by the Government on State Compensations and State Academic Scholarship.

As the Deputy Foreign Minister, Khatuna Totladze stated, no remarks have been expressed towards the Bill, envisaging: “The person with the high diplomatic rank shall, upon the achievement of the age of 65, enjoy the compensation, the amount of which constitutes one-third of his/her salary on the last high diplomatic position, which shall be calculated from the salary stipulated for the respective position upon the moment of the appointment of the compensation”.

The Committee approved the Bill and discussed with the III reading the Bills on: State Compensation and State Academic Scholarship; and Social Provision for the Persons Resigned from the Military, Interior Bodies and State Special Protection Service, and Their Families, introduced by the Deputy Defense Minister, Grigol Giorgadze.

The first Bill has been initiated over a year ago, though, its final reading has been postponed due to objective reasons. Thus, he reminded the essence and objective of the Bill noting that the Bill concerns the improvement and protection of social conditions for the Defense Ministry officers with the special title, their motivation and further professional development.

The current law fails to mention the persons with the special titles and this gap shall be eliminated to provide these persons with compensation in case of their working experience of 20 calendar years.

The Committee approved the Bills and discussed with the II reading the Bills initiated by D. Khundadze on: Social Aid; State Pension; and State Compensation and State Academic Scholarship. He reminded the MPs that all three Bills concern the legalization of the amounts excessively issued and the exemption of the beneficiaries from the obligation of refund.

The Committee approved the Bills.
