The President of the European Parliament has expressed his wish to visit Georgia after the elections - the Speaker, Kakha Kutchava commented after the meeting with the President of the European Parliament.

According to him - "We had a positive meeting with the President of the European Parliament. We expanded on a number of issues: current challenges of Georgia and the main goal - the formal application for EU membership in 2024. We also touched on the 2021 elections and asked the President of the EU Parliament to ensure the deployment of an observation mission as per their wish. The President expressed his desire and accepted the invitation to visit Georgia after the elections. President Sassoli foresees the role of our country in the big EU family and strives to see us become even more thriving; and most importantly, on the path we have to undertake until 2024, he is committed to supporting us to his maximum extent possible".
