Meeting of Maia Bitadze with Representatives of US Embassy

The Chair of the Environmental Protection and Natural Resources Committee, Maia Bitadze met with representatives of the US Embassy - Evan Elliott and Mackenzie Rowe.
"We introduced the future plans of our Committee, discussed the environmental issues in the cities, dwelt on the future prospects of the green economy, and touched upon the scheduled legislative reforms and the need for their effective implementation. Special emphasis was placed on the issue of separation and its importance, as well as the development of incentive mechanisms that should be established to involve the population in the process of waste separation”, - M. Bitadze commented.
According to her, the representatives of the US Embassy underlined the fact that the Committee, according to the plans, is working in a busy mode and, consequently, it is essential for the opposition to be more actively involved and participate in drafting the environmental legislation.
