The Chair of the Environmental Protection and Natural Resources Committee, Maia Bitadze held the meeting with the Head of EIB Regional Representation for the South Caucasus, Maciej Czura and the Coordinator of the EU Representation for Energy, Environmental Protection and Climate Change sector.

The parties discussed the cooperation prospects, including the development of the green economy, stimulation mechanisms for facilitation of the circular economy and business, for application of the best environmental technologies in production.

“We discussed the environmental integration in the cities, including the transport and environmental issues on the construction permits. We touched upon the mineral management process in this context and outlined the directions where the EIB in partnership with the EU will provide the Committee with the assistance in fulfillment of the requirements of the laws adopted in line with the EUAA”, - M. Bitadze stated.
