The Chair of the Environmental Protection and Natural Resources Committee, Maia Bitadze held the meeting with the representatives of the Caucasus Environmental NGO Network.

The parties stressed the future cooperation aspects, especially the active civic engagement in countering climate change.

“The meeting was very important with the CENN representatives. We discussed our future cooperation, including the civic engagement in countering climate change. Engagement of NGOs and international organizations is very important since they can provide the vast human and financial resources to enact the climate change issues in Georgia, including in terms of economic development and sustainable infrastructural projects. Hence, cooperation with the CENN is timely, especially within the projects funded by the EU, where the civic engagement is facilitated in Guria, Imereti, Racha-Lechkhumi and Kakheti regions”, - M. Bitadze stated.
