The meeting of Maka Bochorishvili with the Ambassador of Romania
The Chair of the EU Integration Committee, Maka Bochorishvili and her Deputy, Levan Karumidze held the meeting with the Ambassador of Romania, H.E. Răzvan Rotundu to inform the diplomat about the intention of Georgia to apply for the full-fledged EU membership in 2024.
In this term, the importance of the EUAA implementation was underlined.
The Ambassador reaffirmed the intact support to the sovereignty and the territorial integrity, and the EU and NATO aspirations of Georgia. He underlined that Romania, as the country enriched with the EU integration experience, is committed to sharing its best experience with Georgia.
The parties discussed the importance of EU approximation and underlined the importance of the people-to-people contacts and support to the youth in enjoying equal conditions for obtaining education in the EU member states.
The parties noted the scholarships issued by Romania to the non-member states, including to Georgian students. The parties touched upon the EaP Summit scheduled in autumn.
According to Georgian MPs, the Summit is of utmost importance in terms of the determination of the EaP's further policy.
The parties overviewed the Black Sea security issues and noted that the Black Sea is not dividing but a connecting factor of two countries. The parties expressed their hope for further close cooperation in the EU integration direction.
