Mamuka Mdinaradze: according to the “Heritage” index, business is free in Georgia and the investment environment is attractive, which is an important factor for addressing the pandemic-related economic crisis"

The Chair of the Faction “Georgian Dream”, Mamuka Mdinaradze held the briefing to introduce the US Organization “Heritage” index, providing that according to the economic freedom rate for 2021, Georgia takes 11th place in the world with 77,2 common money, and 7th place amongst 45 European countries according to the free economy.

“Georgia is enrolled in the group of the freest economies. According to the index, business is free in Georgia and the investment environment is attractive, which is an important factor for addressing the pandemic-related economic crisis since as soon as the pandemic is over, we need to attract additional investments and launch new start-ups on the way of economic restoration. It shall have a reflection on the eradication of poverty, increase of incomes, employment and welfare”, - he stated.

As the survey reveals, Georgia achieved progress in all aspects of economic freedom, which is related to the successful steps of the Government in various spheres and undertaken reforms, such are countering corruption, judicial efficiency and impartiality, simplified taxes, free trade agreements etc.

“Today, we gradually restore our economy. The Government is oriented to find the golden balance between the management of the epidemic, public healthcare and business stimulation. At the same time, Georgia is amongst the leading countries in the international ratings according to the business-making simplicity and attractive investment environment. It allows us to state that Georgia will rapidly resume the economic growth dynamics we had before the pandemic and it shall be reflected on the welfare of every family. At the same time, other than the reforms, we need to ensure maximal consolidation of society in countering the pandemic and achieving political stability, which is the responsibility of us all. It was called on by our friends and partners”, - he added.
