Meeting of Nikoloz Samkharadze with Jacques Krabal
The Chair of the Foreign Relations Committee, Nikoloz Samkharadze met with the Secretary General of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Francophonie, Jacques Krabal to discuss the directions of cooperation between the Parliament of Georgia and the Parliamentary Assembly and expand on the procedures for Georgia's associate membership in the Assembly.
As was noted at the meeting, Georgia’s associate membership in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Francophonie will significantly contribute to the implementation of non-recognition policy.
"We are now launching the process of becoming an associate member of the Francophonie Parliamentary Assembly. We enjoy great support for obtaining associate membership status, and in the near future this procedure will be initiated, which will facilitate the development of relations with the Francophonie countries in general. It is also noteworthy that the Assembly has 88 member states from all five continents of the world. It is important for our policy, for our parliamentary relations, to have close relations with these countries, especially in terms of non-recognition policy, because the Assembly also includes countries from the regions of Africa, Oceania and other remote regions with which Georgia does not have such close ties”, - N. Samkharadze commented.
Giorgi Khelashvili, First Deputy Chairman of the Committee and Mariam Lashkhi, Member of the Committee also attended the meeting with Jacques Krabal.
