The Chair of the Foreign Relations Committee, Nikoloz Samkharadze, together with his First Deputy Giorgi Khelashvili, met with the Ambassador of France to Georgia, H.E. Diego Colas.

The sides discussed further strengthening of relations between the two countries and prospects for future cooperation, including the creation of a parliamentary dimension within the framework of the Dimitri Amilakhvari Georgian-French Dialogue.

The conversation also touched upon the situation in the occupied regions, Georgia's membership in the EU and NATO, and the resolution on foreign policy adopted by the Parliament of Georgia.

"We thank France not only for supporting the territorial integrity of our country, but also for working with us quite actively to support the policy of non-recognition in different regions of the world", - N. Samkharadze stated.

During the meeting, the current processes in the South Caucasus region, recent developments around Nagorno-Karabakh and security issues in the region in general were reviewed.
