The Chair of the Foreign Relations Committee, Nikoloz Samkharadze held the meetings with the rapporteur of the Bundestag Committee on EU Affairs for the EaP countries, Johannes Schraps and the rapporteur of the Bundestag Social-Democratic Party for the EU, Christian Petry.

The parties discussed the importance of the Georgian-German cooperation and touched upon the domestic political situation in Georgia. According to N. Samkharadze, the German colleagues welcomed the addressing of the political crisis in the country. As noted, Georgia will enjoy the support in the EU integration process.

“Germany recognizes that Georgia is a leader country in the Eastern Partnership and hence, we deserve further approximation with the EU. In this regard, the German MPs pledged that the German Social-Democratic Party will keep supporting Georgia”.

He thanked his German colleagues for the years of support to Georgia.
