Meeting of Kakha Kutchava with British Ambassador to Georgia, Mark Clayton

The Vice-Speaker, Kakhaber Kuchava, met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to Georgia, H.E. Mark Clayton to discuss the visit to Georgia and meeting with the Speaker, H.E. Archil talakvadze, of the Minister for European Neighbourhood and the Americas at the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), Wendy Morton.
It was emphasized that such high-level visits contribute to the further deepening of the existing political and friendly relations between the two countries.
The parties also tabled issues of bilateral strategic cooperation and inter-parliamentary relations. According to M. Clayton, the UK strongly supports Georgia's EU and NATO aspirations and the steps taken by the Georgian Parliament in this direction. In addition, the Ambassador reaffirmed his unwavering support for Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity within its internationally recognized borders.
As K. Kutchava noted, the friendship groups in the Parliament of Georgia will be actively employed as another platform to further deepen parliamentary relations and strengthen the existing cooperation between the countries. The Vice-Speaker emphasized the importance of the programs and projects organized by the Westminster Democratic Foundation (WFD).
The meeting was also attended by the Deputy Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and the Chief Specialist of Kakhaber Kutchava’s Secretariat, Tamar Geldiashvili.
