The meeting of the Vice-Speaker, Kakhaber Kutchava with the Ambassador of Japan

The Vice-Speaker, Kakhaber Kutchava held the introductory meeting with the Ambassador of Japan, H.E. Akira Imamura and congratulated him on the new position.

The parties discussed the trade-economic cooperation between the countries and inter-Parliamentary relations.

“We have recently achieved significant progress in terms of conclusion of the free trade and bilateral investment agreements with Japan. We discussed on the attraction of additional Japanese investments by the Government and the Parliament and I affirmed our strong support for this process. The Ambassador expressed his will to, after the borders are open, host the Parliamentary delegation to Japan to facilitate enhancement of the cooperation between the Parliaments”, - K. Kutchava stated.

He informed the diplomat about the political processes in the country.

The Ambassador affirmed the intact support to the EU and NATO integration, as well as the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Georgia and expressed his commitment to improving the stability in Georgia and create additional guarantees for the attraction of Japanese investments.

The meeting was attended by the Advisor to the Japanese Ambassador, as well as Alexander Davitashvili and the Advisor to the Speaker for International Affairs, Nino Panjikidze.
