Meeting of Kakhaber Kutchava with Ambassador of Azerbaijan, Faig Guliyev

The Vice-Speaker of the Parliament, Kakhaber Kutchava, held an introductory meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Georgia, H.E. Faig Guliyev to review the existing friendly and partnership relations between Georgia and Azerbaijan and determine the priorities for future cooperation.
The meeting covered the deepening of inter-parliamentary relations and the agenda of bilateral visits in the format of a friendship group. K. Kuchava and F. Guliyev also focused on the ongoing processes in the South Caucasus and economic and trade issues. Azerbaijan remains one of Georgia's major economic partners in the region, and Georgia upholds further deepening of bilateral trade and economic relations in the coming years.
"Today we held an introductory meeting with the new Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Georgia, Mr. Faig Guliyev. At the meeting, we tabled a number of important issues around which ensure deepening of friendly and partnership relations between our countries. I briefed the Ambassador on the activities enshrined within the framework of the Parliamentary Friendship Group, which will help to deepen the existing relations between our countries at the legislative level. We discussed the recent decisions made between Georgia and Azerbaijan, and therefore the Ambassador expressed commitment to continue mutually beneficial cooperation in the future", - K. Kuchava commented after the meeting.
The introductory meeting was also attended by the Adviser to the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Eldar Bairamov, and the Advisor to the Speaker of the Parliament on International Relations, Nino Panjikidze.
