“We discussed the green economy as an economic development model mitigating the environmental risks, ecologic problems and aiming at sustainable development and mitigation of a negative impact on the environment. We underlined the importance of the green lifestyle from a long-term perspective. I introduced the practice and innovative methods established by the Environmental Protection and Natural Resources Committee, such are thematic inquiry practice and oversight on enforcement of the normative acts. These methods have been established for the first time and envisaged the oversight of the enforcement of the legal changes related to the e-engine vehicles. These mechanisms are characterized by the high quality of transparency and all parties concerned are engaged, including the civil society, private sector and international organizations”, - he stated.
In his speech, he welcomed the active engagement of the private sector in the green economy policy realization by the Parliament and underlined their role in this process.
