Irakli Kobakhidze awarded the Parliamentary Order of Freedom for his contribution to the Constitutional reform
“I am honored to award the Member of Parliament and the Majority Leader, Irakli Kobakhidze the Parliamentary Order of Freedom for his contribution in and authorship of the Constitutional Reform”, - the Speaker, Archil Talakvadze stated at the awarding ceremony.

The Speaker thanked the Bureau members for the decision on awarding Mr. Kobakhidze and congratulated the attendees with the 100th jubilee of the first Constitution. Georgia has the agenda, he stated, envisaging our EU and NATO integration.

“It is a special day – 100 years have passed since the Constituent Council adopted the first Constitution of Georgia. It is the date when we can review 100 years of development of our country and think of our future”, - he added.

Irakli Kobakhidze addressed the attendees and thanked the Speaker and the Bureau for the award.

The new edition of the Constitution is a significant step taken to approximate Georgia with the full-fledged membership of the Euro-Atlantic family. “Let me congratulate you with this day – 100th jubilee of our first Georgian Constitution. I would like to thank the Speaker for the award, and the Bureau members for supporting this decision. We have been side by side for four years leading to the new edition of the Constitution. Our ambitious task and objective is to become the EU and NATO member and I believe that the new edition of the Constitution was and is a significant step taken to approximate us with this goal and I am truly sure this goal will be achieved”, - he stated.

The Parliamentary Order of Freedom envisages the respective monetary prize, which according to the decision of I. Kobakhidze will be donated for the children with cancer.
