The member of the Permanent Parliamentary Delegation to CoE, Deputy Chair of the Sports and Youth Issues Committee, Tamar Taliashvili met with the Chair of the Education, Culture, Youth, Sport and Media Committee, Mr Oliver Becht.

At the meeting, the Chair of the Committee hailed the ratification and prioritization of implementation of the CoE Convention on the Manipulation of Sports Competitions by the Committee of the Parliament of Georgia.

The sides tabled the current challenges in education, culture and sports in Europe and Georgia during the Covid-19 pandemic, and stressed the ways and prospects for their resolution through joint efforts and a solidarity approach.

O. Becht praised T. Taliashvili's initiative to launch an investigation into the Committee on Youth Empowerment and the Covid-19 Pandemic Crisis. For this purpose, a designated report will be submitted within the PACE sessions.
